Everything began when Maria Luísa, founder of Mammy Choux, decided to participate in a cake design training programme because she wanted to perfect the birthday cakes for her children and the desserts she used to make for family and friends. After that, she hasn’t stop. In two years, she took over 60 courses from pastry to food safety and hygiene and HACCP, which took place at specialized schools and ateliers, with Portuguese and international pastry chefs. The highest point was the courses from the prestigious culinary school Le Cordon Bleu, in Paris. In short, there were hundreds of hours of training, preparation and creation, all with the same moto: dedication and passion.
Her research concerning today best cakes and sweets led her to visit the most renowned pastries in Brussels, Madrid, Barcelona, London and Paris.
Graduated in Psychology and Law, working since very young, in commercial areas, as well as, in training systems and human resource management in the financial sector, Maria Luísa left all of that behind to pursue a new and fascinating challenge: the creation of a concept for an elegant but yet unpretentious store, a space to show her homemade sweets, from dough cake to choux pastry, from custard cream to traditional egg-based desserts, from macarons to meringue, to various cake bases, fillings and icings.
